Ship Compass Knots/Bends Morse Code Marine VHF
Morse Code is a method of transmitting messages using audible pulses of sound or flashes of light. It was developed by Samual Morse and Alfred Vail. Each letter of numeric digit is represented by a unique sequence of long and short pulses. In the days before reliable radio and telephone communication, voice messages could only be tranmitte dover short distances before they became inaudible or illegible distoted. An operator could use the length of pulses to identify the letters, it did not matter whether the pitch of the pulses was distorted. The use of Morse code has declined because modern radio and telephones can clearly transmut sound, voice or video messages of great distances.
