Pembrokeshire Taxis

- Local Taxis are normally licenced by Pembrokeshire County Council
- It may be permissable for a taxi registered in a distant county to operate in Pembrokeshire but this is very unusual. Vehicles from neighbouring counties sometimes trade near our county boundaries.
- Pembrokeshire taxis should display a white or yellow taxi plate on rear of the car, they usually advertise the taxi company telephone number and they often display a Pembs Taxi symbol on the door
- Taxis should be fitted with a taxi fare meter. If you have agreed a fixed price for a journey, the driver may switch off the meter
- The word Taxi is sometimes spelt Tacsi. This is because the alphabet used by the Welsh language does not include the letter X
- There are two types of "normal" taxi.
- Hackney Carriage - can either pick up passengers from the roadside or accept bookings
- Private Hire - can only carry pre-booked passengers
Cruise Ships
Private coach excursions are often organised for our Cruise Ship guests, these vary according to shipping line.
Passengers on vessels visiting Milford Haven often come ashore in the Milford Haven Marina. The tour coaches usually pick up passenges from the landing area. For those who
choose to remain in our town, we have bootique shops and restaurants within the marina and a small out-of-town shopping area (with Tesco, Home Bargains etc.) adjacent to the marina.
